On January 23, we held SocialWeb勉強会 vol.1 at the DeNA Co., Ltd. office. With 50 participants and a waitlist of people eager to join, it was a great success. It turned out to be a study session where you could truly feel the growing attention being paid to the social web.

In my presentation, as the organizer, I outlined the community's future direction and introduced trends seen in current overseas services, as well as how major players are actually tackling the transition to the social web. Much of the content had already been shared on this blog, but I think it served as a solid summary.

I have uploaded the slides to SlideShare, so I'm embedding them below. Some parts might look a bit off due to font substitutions, but they are also available for download, so please take a look.

In addition, Yoichiro-san gave a presentation on introducing OpenSocial, and id:ZIGOROu-san presented on OpenID trends for 2009. More details should be uploaded to this page soon, so be sure to check it out.

Update: I forgot to mention the lightning-talk presentation on PayPal + OpenPNE by Kambe-san, who joined in spontaneously. It was a really fascinating talk that tied into the monetization via billing that I also touched on in my presentation.
